We are located in the middle of a protected, hilly and very beautiful Ice Age landscape, surrounded by heather hills, forests and lakes and with direct access to Lake Knudsø, the Silkeborg Lakes and Gudenåen, Denmark's longest river.
We are the ideal choice for all families looking for a lovely holiday filled with both relaxation and activity. With our many facilities on both water and land, there is plenty of opportunity for both children and adults to be entertained.

Regardless of whether you arrive with a caravan, tent or motorhome - or whether you stay in one of our cabins, rooms, apartments or rental caravans - we have a wealth of activities and facilities to offer.
And as one of few campsites in East and Central Jutland, we have direct access to Lake Knudsø, the Gudenå river and the Silkeborg lakes. This gives you and your family the opportunity for lots of wonderful experiences on land and at sea:

At Birkhede Camping you are close to nature, but never far away. We are only half an hour's drive from Aarhus and approx. 20 minutes away from Silkeborg. So when you visit us, you are close to some of Denmark's best attractions - eg Legoland, Djurs Sommerland, AROS, Den Gamle By, etc.
Whether you want to shop in the big cities or visit local attractions, there are plenty of opportunities for the whole family on your doorstep. If you don't want to drive yourself, you can easily and conveniently hop on the train in Ry to all major cities.
